è uno spazio museale privato pensato per ospitare molteplici attività legate all’arte.
L’idea si è concretizzata nel marzo 2003 con l’acquisto dell’ex-sede asconese del Crédit Suisse.
Ideale per dislocazione, nel centro di Ascona, presenta caratteristiche strutturali ed architettoniche opportunamente adattate: ampio spazio espositivo, caveau blindato, biblioteca, archivi ed uffici per i diversi dipartimenti. I due piani della proprietà di oltre 600 mq, sono stati completamente ristrutturati per dar vita ad un nuovo centro di servizi dedicati all’arte. Particolare cura è stata dedicata alla sicurezza, portata ai massimi livelli.
Il caveau è stato completamente risanato al fine di garantire la miglior conservazione delle opere d’arte alle quali è riservato. Dipinti, bronzi, carte o legno, tutti i materiali godono di un ambiente ideale, assolutamente neutro, con temperatura ed umidità costante.
Lo spazio espositivo di oltre 200 mq permette installazioni di tutti i generi, separando ed illuminando con la più grande versatilità.
Quando non sono in corso esposizioni temporanee, vengono presentate opere scelte dalla collezione permanente.
Im Frühling 2003 kaufte Aion den ehemaligen Sitz der Crédit Suisse in Ascona, mit dem Zweck das Kunstzentrum Ascona zu gründen.
Idee und Aufgabe des Kunstzentrums ist es, erstmals privaten Sammlungen von musealer Bedeutung ein internationales kunstwissenschaftliches Forum und Dokumentationszentrum anbieten zu können.
Gleichzeitig soll es aber auch eine Begegnungs- und Arbeitsstätte für unabhängige, kulturell und kunstwissenschaftlich tätigen, internationalen Stiftungen und anderen nahe stehenden Institutionen sein.
Eine grosszügige Ausstellungsfläche, Arbeits- und Lagerräume, ein grosser Tresorraum - für Kunst-Depot sorgfältig umgebaut - und die modernsten sicherheitstechnischen Anlagen sind dabei ein perfekter Rahmen für Vorbereitung und Durchführung verschiedener Veranstaltungen und Ausstellungen von kulturellen Interesse.
In March 2003 Aion purchased the ex-Ascona branch of the Credit Suisse Bank and brought into being the Aion Art Center, which is a private art gallery dedicated to artistic and cultural activities.
Aion Art Center is situated in the center of Ascona, with its structural and architectural characteristics that are particularly suitable for its purposes: spacious exhibition areas, armored-safe, archives and offices for different departments. The two-floor, 600-square meter property is completely restructured, paying special attention to bringing its security system to the highest level. The safe is entirely restored to guarantee the optimal conservation of artworks, keeping a constant temperature and humidity needed for paintings, bronze, paper or wood. The exhibition room has an area of 200 sq. meters, sub-divisible, illuminated, and is equipped for best versatility.
Besides organizing and hosting temporary exhibitions, Aion Art Center has also various selected artworks and collections on display permanently.
